Welcome

We are delighted to announce Canon
as the Sponsors
of the Drinks Reception |
The
theme for this year’s Conference will be Procurement
Centre Stage: Meeting the Efficiency Challenge. To meet
the challenge of the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007,
the Central Buying Consortium and the wider public sector
need to make sure their procurement professionals are ‘match
fit’.
Public procurement in the UK affects the lives of all citizens,
and is a major driver for economic growth. The requirements
of public sector bodies encompass virtually every product
and service imaginable. There is now an annual spend on products
and services of some £120 billion in the public sector,
and it is estimated that the public sector outsourcing market
will be worth £67 billion by 2008 with local government
being one of the fastest growth areas.
The
emphasis this year will be on training and development, showcasing
the skills required. The Conference promises to be inspirational
at an individual, team and business level!
SEMINAR SESSIONS
As
in previous years, we are offering delegates the opportunity
to attend a choice of seminars on a range of relevant topics.
These offer a higher degree of participation and an opportunity
for delegates to explore issues in greater depth.
SPEAKERS
We
have invited a wide range of speakers covering motivation,
leadership and negotiation. Our presenters have experience
of working with both the public sector and the private sector,
which should contribute to a thought-provoking day.
DRINKS
RECEPTION
With
a strong focus on networking the day will close with a drinks
reception to allow you to meet with your fellow delegates
and discuss the day's topics.
WHY
ATTEND?
The
Central Buying Consortium Annual Conference is an opportunity
to meet with key procurement professionals and suppliers and
hear presentations on how training and development can impact
